FLYING MASKS
Angelim Hall, Blumenau ~2016
The Flying Masks exhibition was conceived as a scream for freedom, a permission from the cosmos to exercise one’s true essence. Consciousness expands in the face of the constraints of patriarchal society, forming fragmented images that come together like a deafening melody to instigate the viewer. A metamorphosis of paper, thread, fabric and trash into “guilty collages”. Fear. In the eyes of the horse, the transport of the soul. From this gaze intoxicated by mysticism, worldly approaches, existential dilemmas and indescribable beauties of being, small galaxies emerge, immersed in an intimate universe of pains and flavors. Assume the masks and allow yourself to fly?
“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. He who looks outside, dreams. He who looks inside, wakes up.”
Carl Gustav Jung
